Join the BOINC Team.
BOINC Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing is a non-commercial middleware system for volunteer and grid computing. It was originally developed to support the [email protected] project before it became useful as a platform for other distributed applications in areas as diverse as mathematics, medicine, molecular biology, climatology, and astrophysics. BOINC uses your spare computer power for scientific projects. Your computer’s unused processing power is set aside for the analysis of data, sent to you over the internet from a central source. Astrophysics, Biology, and Meteorology are a few of the scientific endeavors you can support through DC.
Boinc is new(er) software made by the same people who created [email protected] (University of California) However it allows you to work on several different @home projects and is a more efficient user of computer cycles.
You can download the BOINC program for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, or Solaris. DOWNLOAD HERE.
